Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account on or using pilotta.com.cy (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

pilotta.com.cy is an online platform for playing Pilotta, the Cypriot card game. The Service is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial entertainment. No real money is wagered, won or lost through gameplay.

3. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. You must not share your account, impersonate others, or create accounts by automated means. We may require email verification before you can use the Service.

4. Fair play and acceptable use

You agree not to: cheat or collude with other players; use bots, scripts or any form of automation to play on your behalf; exploit bugs (please report them instead); harass or abuse other players; choose offensive usernames or upload offensive images; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your avatar and profile text). By submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it as part of operating the Service. You must have the right to any content you upload.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design and graphics (but excluding your content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The rules of Pilotta itself are, of course, free for everyone.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Match results, statistics and progression may be adjusted or reset where needed (for example to correct bugs or address cheating).

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service or ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with or without notice, including for cheating, abuse or unlawful behaviour.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date; continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus.

Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

pilotta.com.cy (“we”, “us”) operates this online Pilotta platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have. For any privacy matter, contact [email protected].

2. Data we collect

  • Account data — your username, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you enable two-factor authentication, we store the secret needed to verify your codes.
  • Google sign-in — if you sign in with Google we receive your email address and display name from Google. We never see your Google password.
  • Profile data — anything you add to your profile, such as an avatar image or bio.
  • Gameplay data — match results, scores, statistics and progression (XP/level), and records of played deals used to improve the game.
  • Technical data — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) kept for security and troubleshooting.

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to operate the Service: to authenticate you, run games and leaderboards, display your profile to other players, send account emails (such as verification and password reset), keep the Service secure, and fix problems. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Cookies

We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. Preferences such as your chosen card deck are stored locally in your browser. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Sharing and processors

Your username, avatar, level and match statistics are visible to other players as part of the game. We share personal data only with the service providers that host and run the platform (such as the provider for hosting the site and file storage, and our email provider for account emails), and only as needed to operate the Service, or where the law requires it.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except for minimal records we must keep for legal or security reasons. Anonymised gameplay records (deals and results no longer linked to you) may be retained.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Cyprus, the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection). To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

8. Security

We protect your data using security best-practices. However, no system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will inform you of any breach as required by law.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
